Privacy Policy

This policy describes what Genmotion.design (“we”, “us”) collects when you use Genmotion.design, and how it's used. Genmotion.design turns a website URL or a short product description into a motion design video using AI.

Account information. Our authentication provider (Supabase, in the same database in Ireland) keeps your email address and your password, hashed and never stored in plain text, or your Google identity (name, address, photo) if you sign in with Google. Access emails (invitation, link to choose a password) are sent through Resend. No phone number has been requested since October 13, 2026; the one attached to an older account is deleted on request.

Early stage. If you join the early stage, we keep your first name, last name, email address, country and website address, only to email you about your access. The first 100 sign-ups take the early stage spots; later ones are kept on a separate list, with the same details and for the same purpose. The site only shows how many spots are taken, never who holds them.

Content you provide. The URL you paste, any text you write in the brief, and your brand preferences (tone, audience, colors, music). If you submit a URL, we fetch the public page content, screenshots, colors, and fonts from that page to build your video.

Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Stripe handles that directly and shares with us only what's needed to unlock your video (payment status, amount).

Usage data. Basic product analytics (pages visited, features used) and error reports, to fix bugs and understand what's useful.

Your brief and the content read from your site are sent to the service providers that build your video: Firecrawl and Jina, which read the pages of your site; Google (Gemini), which picks the pages worth reading; Anthropic (Claude), which writes the script and the scenes; Cartesia, which records the voiceover; ElevenLabs, which composes the music and records the voiceover when Cartesia is unavailable; and OpenAI, which records the voiceover and times the captions for some formats. Some of these calls go through Vercel's AI Gateway. These providers process your content solely to generate your video.

Your finished video is stored on our cloud storage (Supabase), in a private space, so it can be played back, downloaded or re-rendered: it opens through links that expire. The site is hosted by Vercel, your account and project data are kept in our Supabase database, and video jobs wait in a queue hosted by Upstash. The Supabase database and storage are located in Ireland, in the European Union.

We may look at projects and generated videos to fix errors and improve the software.

We don't sell your data. We don't share your content with anyone beyond the service providers listed above, which exist solely to run the product.

We use a session cookie, set only on app.genmotion.design, to keep you signed in, and two cookies that remember your choices, one for audience measurement and one for ad measurement (13 months if you accept, 6 months if you refuse). You can refuse, accept one without the other, and change your choice at any time: manage cookies.

Without your consent, whether you refused or haven't answered yet, we only measure traffic, anonymously and without storing anything in your browser: pages viewed and time spent, the page you came from, device and browser type, page loading times, country, and a few steps of the journey (website pasted, early stage sign-up, video started, payment started or completed). PostHog counts visits with a fingerprint computed on its servers from your IP address and your browser, renewed every day: it cannot recognize you from one day to the next or link you to your account, and it deletes the IP address right away. The country comes from our host Vercel, never a more precise location. These statistics are for us alone, are never combined with any other data and are kept for 1 year. Your opt-out is kept for 13 months in a cookie in this browser, and also withdraws your consent if you had accepted audience measurement. You can opt out at any time: opt out of audience measurement.

If you accept, we use PostHog, hosted in the European Union, to understand how the website and the software are used: pages viewed, steps of the journey (website pasted, payment started, video generated or failed) and how long a video took to make and what it cost us. These measures are linked to an internal account number, never to your email, your name or the address of your website. PostHog may also record how a visit unfolds (pages, clicks, scrolling) to see where the journey gets stuck; what you type in fields is masked. PostHog keeps these measures for 1 year, and visit recordings for 30 days at most. On the website and in the software, we also use Taap It to count visits: pages viewed, where visitors come from, clicks on outgoing links, form submissions (which form, never what you typed) and page loading times. Taap It stores a visitor identifier in your browser. Taap It (taap.it Inc., United States) processes this data on our behalf and hosts it mainly in the United States; the transfer is covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. It keeps the data as long as our Taap It account is open, then deletes or anonymizes it within a reasonable time.

To fix errors, we use Sentry: when something breaks, it receives the technical details of the error (the page, the browser, the line of code), without your email, your name or the content of your videos. Sentry is hosted in the European Union (Germany) and keeps these errors for 30 to 90 days depending on our plan.

To know whether our ads in ChatGPT bring customers, we use the OpenAI pixel, on the website and in the software, only if you accept ad measurement. When you arrive through one of our ads, the address carries a click identifier: the pixel keeps it for 30 days in a cookie (__oppref), along with a browser identifier kept for 1 year (__obref) and your choice kept for 30 days (__oaiq_consent). It sends OpenAI your early stage sign-up, the creation of your account and your payments (amount and currency, never your card details), with the address of the page and the page you came from. It also reads the email, phone number, first name and last name typed in a form, never a password or a card, and sends them hashed (SHA-256), so OpenAI can link a conversion to a click without receiving this information in clear. OpenAI (United States) receives this data to measure our ads and processes it under its own privacy policy; it may be processed in the United States. Refusing or withdrawing your consent deletes both identifiers and stops all sending.

You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account and associated content at any time by emailing ellioth@genmotion.design. If you're in the EU/UK, this includes the rights to access, correct, delete, and export your data under GDPR. You can also delete your account yourself, from the “My account” menu in the app.

Genmotion.design isn't directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
